Played a $1 super at Sam Houston race 2 - 2,3/2,3/5,7/1,4,5,7,8,9 - Cost $20 -
2 - 5/1
3 - 12/1
5 - 4/1
8 - 9/2
Paid - $3109.50 - I'm not complaining just wondering how come it paid so much - Am I missing something?

below is the chart from the race. what i find particularly amusing is the fact that the superfecta paid $6219 and the entire superfecta pool was $4146. i'm not sure what the track takeout is on superfecta wagers, but it looks like you had the only winning ticket out there. at a 25% takeout, the total superfecta pool available for distribution was 3109.50. that equates to exactly half the payout, meaning there was one single winning ticket in the super. with only 4k wagered into the pool, that doesn't surprise me (it's also why i never play into the pools at these bush league tracks). assuming there was more money bet into the pool, you probably would not have been the only winning ticket-- if this race was run at del mar, your super probably would've paid in the neighborhood of $2000. consider yourself fortunate and now you can tell all your friends that you were the only person in the world who hit the superfecta in the second race at sam houston on thursday august 14, 2003.....
